At the beginning of lock down, we slipped into joggers, pulled on comfy jumpers and rejoiced in not having to make an effort. But as time has passed along working from home with video calls has become the norm - our wardrobe needs have changed! Our usual go-to pieces are no longer suitable and we are left with fresh wardrobe dilemmas.
You want to arrive at a Zoom meeting, making the best impression you can, just as you would in a regular face to face scenario. Even more so in some instances as we have a smaller window in which to perform.
My top tips for looking your best on zoom-
1-Good lighting in front of you as this will ensure you are clearly seen and you are not a shadow in the corner.
2-Appropriate/relevant background will form a part of who you are. Think about what you want to say about yourself. (virtual backgrounds are great if your house is not tidy)
3-Position yourself as a newsreader does, within your screen. You (head and shoulders) should be the dominant feature.
4-WEAR COLOUR! Wearing your best colours on Zoom will make you look radiant and stand out for all the right reasons.
Do not wear the same colour top as your background of you will blend in (If you have white walls do not wear white)
Regardless of whether I’m seeing anyone, I always feel better and much more motivated if I feel I look half decent.
Do not forget YOU are your personal branding and that is very important in your business and personal life. 'Dress for the life you want'
